Being the fastest growing network in terms of data purchases Lyca mobile came up with new revised data plans after official OTT(over the top) tax lift on 1st July 2021 by the Ugandan government.
It was then decided that every subscriber is to be charged 12% tax on every data purchases that's believed to have brought about price changes in Lyca's data plans however other giant internet service providers such as MTN & AIRTEL publicly confirmed that they won't be any changes in their rates irrespective of the new government policies.
Lyca officially made changes on 5th July by rolling out text messages as seen in the screenshot below
